MHS Spanish IV/V classes are reading a novel written in Spanish that takes place in Buenos Aires, Argentina and exploring Argentine culture through dance and music. Last week, they visited Gabrielle's Step by Step Dance Studio located in Belleville, IL to partake in tango lessons, the national dance of Argentina. They also dabbled in the merengue! Ms. Chrissy Velino has been nominated by colleague, Ms. Dibadj, for the MHS Tribe 5 Award!! The award recognizes staff members that EMPOWER students, show COMPASSION, SERVICE to others, PATIENCE and VISION. Students absolutely adore Ms. Velino. She empowers them through kindness, hard work, fun, and encouragement on a daily basis. Her commitment to making MHS a better place is downright impressive. You can hear her laugh down the hall and it is hard to ever catch her without a big smile. Everyone who has had an interaction or experience with Ms. Velino is better for it. Ms. Velino truly exemplifies what it means to make MHS: The High School Of Choice!
