"Summer Swings" by Andrew Latham and "Untitled" by Celeste Berkeen were accepted into the 2024 Annual High School Art Exhibition at SIUE. There were over 200 entries from 29 regional high schools. It was a highly competitive body of work with only half of the submissions being accepted. #MHSTheHighSchoolOfChoice



Mrs. Land and Mrs. Mattmiller's Personal Finance class has been learning about investing and had some fun playing The Pit by simulating stockbrokers trading in the stock market. #MHSTheHighSchoolOfChoice



The MHS Saturday Scholars attended 3 presentations covering Forensic Investigation, Designing Amusement Attractions, and Bringing Asteroid Samples Back to Earth. Students visited SIUE's School of Engineering and explored the various areas of study. #MHSTheHighSchoolOfChoice

MHS Physics classes had a fun week learning about the properties of momentum with some inventive egg drop devices. They also used a cup stacking challenge to experimentally find their center of gravity! #MHSTheHighSchoolOfChoice


The MHS Academic Challenge recently took 1st Place at Regionals at SWIC. Individual medalists also won 1st Place in the Chemistry, Computer Science, English, Math, and Physics categories. They will compete at Sectionals March 1st. #MHSTheHighSchoolOfChoice


The Illinois Region J Special Olympics basketball tournament was this past Sunday. Two MHS students on different teams competed. Alex on Team Galaxy came away with a phenomenal 4th place finish.
