Welcome To Dr. Fowler-Williams who will be joining the fourth grade team at Mascoutah Elementary School! Dr. Williams has been teaching for thirteen years in school districts in Illinois and Missouri. She is a graduate of both McKendree and Lindenwood University. Dr. Williams grew up in Belleville, and currently lives in Belleville with her husband, Derrick, and three children: Martrell (24), (2LT stationed at Luke Air Force Base in AZ), Derrick Jr. (12), and Jamir (8). She enjoys watching her sons Derrick Jr. and Jamir play football and basketball. She loves to shop, travel and spend time with friends and family, including her dog, Polo. Let's welcome Mrs. Kristie Munsie who will be joining our second grade team at Mascoutah Elementary School! Mrs. Munsie is entering her tenth year of teaching, and has served students in Iowa, California, Italy, China, Korea, and Kenya. Mrs. Munsie earned her degree in finance from Toronto Metropolitan University and her Masters in Teaching from the University of Southern California. She was born and raised in Toronto, Ontario, Canada and became an American citizen in June! Mrs. Munsie and her husband, James, live on Scott AFB with their cat, Nemo. Mrs. Munsie is very excited about being part of the Mascoutah community. It is officially August, and we are excited to share our new teachers and building principal that will be joining the Mascoutah Elementary School staff this year! We would like to welcome Mrs. Michelle Cooley as our new building principal. Mrs. Cooley is not a new face to the Mascoutah School District. During the last three years she has served as Assistant Principal at Mascoutah High School. She earned a Bachelor’s of Science degree from East Texas Baptist University and a Masters in Secondary Education and a Masters of Innovative Leadership and Design from UMSL. She is currently working on her Doctorate in Educational Social Justice from UMSL. This is her 13th year in education, and she has served in several teaching and leadership roles. Mrs. Cooley is originally from Plano, TX, but has resided in Illinois since 2010. She has been married for ten years, and lives in Collinsville, IL with her husband, Derek Cooley. Mrs.Cooley enjoys spending time with her family and friends, leading a Step Aerobics class, and serving the amazing Mascoutah community. She hopes to continue building lasting relationships with the staff, students and families. Let’s give a warm welcome to Mrs. Michelle Cooley! #MESStrong
