Mrs. Land's Entertainment Marketing class at MHS held a competition to develop a new nacho platter to be served at a restaurant. Students developed a survey and conducted market research of their peers, calculated a costing sheet staying in budget for national distribution, and created a design tray for their nachos along with two social media ads as part of their marketing campaign. The winning nacho platters were Curly Fry or Naan Bread Nachos with Teriyaki Chicken and Waffle Cone Ice Cream Nachos! #MHSTheSchoolOfChoice


Members of the MHS Ecology Club spent another Saturday morning removing invasive species from Knobeloch Woods. Ten students participated, making a huge impact in an area overrun by winter creeper and bush honeysuckle!! #MHSTheHighSchoolOfChoice



33 MHS AFJROTC cadets had an exciting opportunity to learn about the #126ARW first hand! They were able to experience a flight in the KC-135 refueling jet and observe a refueling mission in action!! #MHSTheHighSchoolOfChoice

This charitable organization run mainly by churches in town provides bags of food to children in the Mascoutah School District who are at risk of going hungry over the weekend. MHS CTE students attended the 24th annual Metro Construction Career Expo at the Belle-Clair Fairgrounds in Belleville. The expo featured 10 different booths, allowing students to experience several trades and learn about potential careers.

The MHS Ecology Club visited the Living Lands and Waters classroom barge docked in St. Louis, learning about the organization’s missions along the rivers. They explored careers in water quality and filtering, including a tugboat tour with the crew! #MHSTheHighSchoolOfChoice


MHS students recently explored a variety of career occupation virtual simulations to explore possible careers such as perform knee surgery, install a solar panel, and demolish an overpass. The opportunity was made available through the Leadership Council of Southwestern Illinois.

Congratulations to Mascoutah High School seniors Princess Rodgers and Sienna Tatum for their outstanding finishes in the Charles Lawson Essay contest. Princess was awarded $1500 in scholarship money for her 2nd place finish and Sienna was awarded $500 for her 4th place finish. In addition, MHS teacher and BSU sponsor Mrs. Crystal Black, was recognized with the Silver Lifetime Membership award. This event was sponsored by the East. St. Louis chapter of the NAACP. Mrs. Frederking's AP Stats class recently collected data comparing hand span and how many Starbursts could be held. They use this data to determine if there is a linear relationship between the two variables and how strong of a correlation there may be. #MHSTheHighSchoolOfChoice
