On Saturday morning during a special board meeting, the MSD19 School Board discussed and approved multiple facility projects that are set to take place over the coming years.
One major approval was accepting the bid packages for the Mascoutah High School Addition and Renovation Project. This project will begin in the Spring of 2026 and will finish August 2027. This nearly 60,000 square foot project will include
New media center and north entrance lobby
New band and chorus space plus music offices and storage
New academic wing with a specific focus on CTE and Vocational programming
New student services offices to expand counseling and other student services
Renovated cafeteria and student commons area
The MHS Addition and Renovation Project is being funded through the District's cash reserves and will require no tax increase nor any additional debt. Renderings of the project are included.
MSD19 Future Projects: In relation to the 10-Year Vision, the Board also directed FGM-Architects to move forward with the design of the following:
A new Mascoutah Primary school to be designed utilizing the land just north of Mascoutah Middle School (funding TBD—may require a referendum in the future)
A six-classroom addition to Scott Elementary School (completion by Fall 2028)
Programming design for the new Mascoutah Career Center (formally Dollar General) that will be used as an extension of our MHS vocational offerings (initial completion by Fall 2026 with additional phase to be completed by Fall 2028).
MSD19 is here to support our Mascoutah Community as we plan for our area’s continued growth. #MHSTheHighSchoolOfChoice #19EveryStudent
