If your student DOES NOT plan to walk at the graduation ceremony, please click HERE and complete the form and return to Mrs. Huber in the Student Services office.


Senior 2025 Graduation Meeting

Last day - May 13th

Unless taking finals - Finals will be May 14th & 15th


Important Dates (all dates and times are subject to change)

âť– May 13 & 14 - Senior check out - During advisories and located in the Library.

➢ Taking finals? - Stop by Student Services to complete the check-out form.

âť– May 14 - Scholarship Night @ 6:30 pm for Seniors. By invitation only.

âť– May 16 - Superlatives, Honors, and Graduation Practice @ 8:00 am

➢ MUST be in attendance for graduation practice to walk at commencement

â–  AP testers and athletes will be excused. Please notify Mrs. McLaurin that you will not be

in attendance, so you can arrange a time to pick up your tickets.

➢ Honors Assembly Brunch - a light breakfast will be provided

➢ Senior Superlatives

➢ Tour Elementary/Middle School Buildings @ 9:00 am - Bring your cap and gown on this day!

➢ Tickets for family seating will be distributed after practice.

â–  Students must have everything returned and balances paid to receive tickets.

âť– May 18th - Commencement Ceremony @ 7:00 pm, Alumni Field at MHS

➢ Student Arrival time @ 5:00 pm

â–  Pictures will be taken in the small gym by TSS Photography. QR codes will be with your tickets.

You can scan in advance to expedite the process.


➢ Tickets -

â–  Alumni Field - 6 tickets and overflow in visitor bleachers.

â–  Competition Gym - 5 tickets and overflow in the auditorium

â–  Handicap Seating - (first come, first served basis) Students may arrange for handicap seating by contacting Mrs. McLaurin at 618-566-8523 ext. 5105 or in the Main Office. Please note -handicap seating requires a ticket.

â–  Admission for individuals with tickets will begin at 6:00 pm

➢ The ceremony will also be streamed live for those unable to attend in person. Information will be given to students on how to access the live stream; however, a link will also be available on the homepage of the MHS website (https://mhs.msd19.org).


➢ Dress Code

â–  Purple Gowns - dark slacks, dress shirt, dress shoes

â–  White Gowns - light colors - dress, dress slacks, dress shoes

â—Ź flat-heeled shoes ONLY

â–  NO jeans, t-shirts, or tennis shoes will be allowed in the ceremony

â–  Graduation Caps - may be decorated on top with school-appropriate designs

â–  All attire must comply with the School Dress Code Policy

➢ Diploma Pick-up - After the Commencement Ceremony, you will proceed to the small gym to collect your diploma packets.


➢ Weather -

â–  We will make the final decision on the location before 8:00 am on Sunday, May 18, and will share the decision via email and phone call to all Class of 2025 families.

â–  If the decision is to remain outside and weather conditions change drastically, we will use the alternate date of Tuesday, May 20, at 7:00 pm for an indoor commencement ceremony.

➢ Students not participating in graduation must inform Mrs. Huber and provide a signed parent form.

Diplomas may be picked up after May 20, 2025.

➢ Transcripts will be ready on June 13, 2025.

âť– Important!! -

➢ Seniors who haven’t met graduation requirements will not be permitted to participate in the commencement exercises.

➢ Students who consistently demonstrate inappropriate behavior and have been notified will be excluded from graduation activities.

➢ Students judged to be inappropriately dressed or seen behaving in a manner not in keeping with the formality of the occasion will be denied participation in the commencement exercises.

➢ During the commencement ceremony, a member of the Board of Education will present each student with a diploma cover. The administration reserves the right to withhold the diplomas of those students displaying inappropriate behavior during the ceremony. Misbehaving students’ parents will be required to contact the Superintendent’s Office for an appointment with a representative of the Board of Education to explain the behavior. We are proud of you and your accomplishments! I look forward to hearing about all of the exciting things you will be doing after high school and wish you the best of luck with all you have planned!
